“Clean”-
Another antiauthoritarian when a mysterious woman strolled through the firehouse has Tommy cleaning the place as a punishment. Meanwhile, Tommy’s family confronts his drinking.
“Initiation”-
Damien gets to be part of Engine 62 and Sheila wants Tommy to watch over him. Janet and Tommy talk about their relationship and some of the firefighters go to a memorial for a firefighter that lost his life on 9/11.
“Wheels”-
Franco has his first FDNY-tournament fight, and he and Carla (Tawny Cypress) have an encounter outside the gym; Candy cooks dinner for Lou; the guys have a surprise for Sean when they visit him in the hospital, and he has one for them. The guys also plan an outing for the kids in the cancer ward.
“Torch”-
After dealing with a particularly horrific accident on the job, Tommy questions his feelings in a dream sequence with his dead father, brother and son, and Jimmy Keefe. Meanwhile, Sean has an unwanted visitor at the hospital; and Lou has a very-much-wanted visitor to his apartment.
“Disease”-
The guys visit Sean in the hospital; Katy is home from school and wants a family dinner—one that includes Colleen and Black Shawn; and Lou and Tommy make a wager concerning the women in their lives.
“Mickey”-
Tommy’s pacts with Sheila and Janet begin to unravel; to Tommy’s chagrin, one Gavin remains sexually adventurous; Garrity divulges his medical secret; Tommy proclaims his recent drinking at an AA meeting, but Mickey offers the final surprise.
“Control”-
Tommy and Mike must put aside their differences when a roadblock puts a halt to a routine call; Sheila uses her leverage to control Tommy’s drinking; Lou refuses to give in to the allure of an old flame.
“Thaw”-
Needles and Dwight both put the heat on Tommy, and receives offers from both Sheila and Janet. Sean reveals his illness to his mother; black Shawn sees Colleen once again; and Franco gives it a try in the boxing ring.
“Iceman”-
Tommy is being haunted by ghosts, not just from 9/11, but also his father, brother Johnny and cousin Jimmy. Meanwhile, the health of Sean continues to deteriorate, and black Sean is still missing. Also, Lou and Needles try to convince Franco into entering the FDNY boxing tournament, Mike and Damien become good friends, and a nervous young man comes into the bar at closing time.
